My to do wish list

A couple weeks ago I was talking with some friends and we got to talking about the movie "The Bucket List". One of them didn't know what it was about, so we started telling each other some of the things we would like to do. I kinda got to thinking about some of the things I would like to try and even do.

Here is my to do wish list of things I want to accomplish in my life:

1.) learn how to swim
2.) go to a Tennessee Titans game
3.) visit Mt. Rushmore
4.) visit Colorado, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston
5.) see a broadway play in New York
6.) two week Alaska cruise
7.) choose a couple good friends, go to Epcot & MGM Studios for a weekend
8.) go fishing
9.) road trip-no plans no destinations, just go
10.) go to Boston to see Red Sox vs Yankees
11.) go to a women's christian conference
12.) meet a person(who is single) to hang out, talk, share, encourage each other on our walk.
13.) Hot air ballon ride
14.) sky diving
15.) para-sailing

This is what I come up with so far.

Miami Hurricanes!!!

I went to watch the Canes vs Ga Tech game at Kelly's house. We had all kind of fattening food and conversation. She was laughing at me cause I kept yelling at the TV and started before the kick off! I had to be quiet because the kids were asleep and didn't want to wake them. Kelly kept saying I was hyper and excited during the game. But we kicked some butt!! Canes won
33 to 17 and here we come watch out ACC!!!

Cheese sticks, popper, cookiebar brownies!! YUMMY!! Football food.

Hillsong concert

I was invited by Patricia and Venus to go to the Hillsong concert Saturday night. We started off by hitting a pizza place in Coral Gables, where I had the biggest slice of pizza I have ever had. The concert was amazing and I had awesome time! I met a new single, Jessica, she met us there. The place was rocking and worshiping! We heard a powerful message "blood stained believer". You could feel the presence of God in an unbelievable way. There were songs that they sung that never affected but last night I couldn't help but let the tears flow. Afterwards we went to Tony Roma's for a late night snack. We laughed so hard and just an a great night of fellowshiping. I was very blessed Saturday night and I thank God for it.

Here are some pictures I took with my cell phone, they may not be that great.

Vacation

On Saturday I flew to Nashville, Tennessee to visit my family.  My cousin Janis and her girls came to pick me up, I had never flown into Nashville before so it was kinda cool.  Once I got off the plane and got my luggage we headed to The Opry Mill Mall and did a little shopping.  Afterwards it started raining so didn't get to do any site seeing in Nashville but Janis took to a restaurant called "Old Chicago", it was a deeeeep dish pizza place and it was so thick I could only eat one slice.
I had a blast seeing my family and having a cookout with everybody.  Katherine and myself we walked everywhere almost everyday. After all the  walking I still gained 3lbs!  Janis and myself went back to day when we were little and saw the house that our grandma lived in in  Fulton County.  On Sunday and Wednesday I went to hear my cousin preach and he gave a powerful message on both services.  I also got to run the slides on Wednesday night (felt like being at home).  I enjoyed my time with my family and going back to our memories and saying "do you remember when..."  I wouldn't trade the time and trip for anything in the world.  One treat that Janis did was on the way back to Nashville she took me a different route; she wanted to show me the Tennessee Titans football stadium....cool.

Here are some pictures from the trip.....

Addicted

My new addiction........"Law & Order:Special Victims Unit"

Well lets say that I am not hooked....addicted is more like it. Ever since I came back from New York last October I have not missed an episode. I decided to go out and buy seasons 4 to 9 of the "Law & Order:SVU", everynight I have been going to bed at midnight just to watch 6 seasons worth. I have been enjoying it and thankful that I haven't been waking up at 5:30am sleepy. I need seasons 1 to 3 and 10 comes out in September.

BEYONCE'S concert

Last night I went to see Beyonce in concert. A couple of my closest friends (Tonya & Kiana) were able to get tickets and we went together and had a blast! Beyonce put on an AWESOME concert!! I did not sit for the entire show and it was worth every penny I spent. Last night towards the end of the show she handed the mic to a guy in the audience because he was proposing to his girlfriend. My seats were better than what I thought and I could have kicked myself for not bringing my camera with me but I did get some pictures with my cell phone. This was by far the best concert I have EVER attended by any artist! I really enjoyed hanging out with 2 of my closest friends for the concert.
I sat on the floor center stage about 40ft from the main stage and 5ft from the second stage, where she performed for about 30 minutes. When she got to the second stage she was lifted up from behind the main stage was carried over the crowd while she sang. When she got closer to where I was sitting I could not believe how close I truly was. Beyonce ended the show with "Halo" which is my favorite song, just so happen to be my answer tone on my cell phone. I am actually closer than what the pictures show cause it is from my phone.

It was an awesome night and right now I am at work going on about 2hours of sleep but it was worth it!! Here are some pictures from my cell phone and I took more than this.....

Graduation pictures

Here are some pictures from my niece Amanda's graduation. I was so very proud of her and love her very much.

Reading....

I have never been a reader. I love looking through books that has alot of pictures. If I go to the bookstore I make a b-line to the history section, where I can stay there for hours just looking through the books. There was one book that I picked up and you had to wear 3D glasses to see the pictures and it was way cool. I love history and it was my favorite subject in school.
I was given a book to read and I finished it. It was a good book talking about a woman's journey. So after reading this it inspired me to start reading another book "Calm My Anxious Heart". This book is incredible and I can truly relate to what is being said. Since I have been inspired to read more, I was given another book to read. I was a little confused for the first 2 or 3 chapters but then understood what was going on. I have been reading this book everyday, the first day I read 15 chapters, the second day 9 chapters and I am on my third day in which I will finish today! I can't say that too loud or I will be given another to book to read. :-)
Amazon has loved my credit card, this is where I have been getting some of my books. I have 2 more that I saw that I want to order. I have a new hobby now....reading and I have been enjoying it. I am thinking when I get my new book I will go to the pool or beach to hang out to read and soak up some rays.

Lunch time

Normally 4 of the 5 days I work I bring my lunch. Today I found out that my turkey sandwich might be bad. It had white spots on the meat and some of it didn't. So I decided not to take a chance and tossed it. I hate to waste food like that! It was a good reason to get out of the office for a little bit, 98% of the time I am sitting at my desk eating lunch. I drove to the mall and ate at Frank-titude. Of course when I finished I made a fast walk to a shoe store to see what was in. I asked the sales person if they had the shoes in brown and my size, I tried them and I could not resist....sold! I now own a pair of brown Chuck Taylor shoes and yes they will only be worn a couple times through out the year.
Those who knows me know that I color coordinate my shoes with my clothes, if I am not wearing brown then my Chuck Taylor's will not be worn. I will be sporting them Sunday to church providing it doesn't rain. But if it does I will have a back-up pair to wear out in the rain. Call crazy or weird, its nothing I haven't heard before but I believe in taking care of my things. We all have a weirdness about us.

Orientation today

Today I go to orientation from 5pm to 10pm for a security position at Turkey Point. This is just the application process and having to take 3 tests, when I pass the tests I will contiue the porcess to be given an interview. This would be a great opportunity and the drive is like 10 minutes from my house, as to where now I drive 1 hour to work. I said my prayers last night and left it in God's hands.

Thanks Phil for what you done to get me this far!!

I PASSED!

I took my written portion of the Nursing Asst State Board exam last week and I passed! I wasn't nervous when I walked into school to take it but it was during the exam that I realized that some of the questions I did not read or covered in class. I must have prayed as I answered each question. Then at the end the State Instructor asked me if I was finished and we looked to see if I had pass. I read the wrong line, thought I had failed but the instructor whispered in my ear "congradulations, you passed". I was never more relieved and excited. This puts me one step closer and the skills test comes in 6 weeks.

Count down....big day

Alot will be happening tomorrow. First, my niece is graduating from high school and I cannot believe how time flew by. I can still remember holding her as a baby for the first time and watching her graduate K-5. I am VERY proud of her and for this day to come, afterwards she will be attending St. John's River Community College on a 2 year scholarship for volleyball. I will miss traveling to see her play high school volleyball but I am even more excited to watch her play at a college level. I did find out from her coach that they will be in a tournament in September around the West Palm Bch area, so I will travel there to cheer her on.
Second, my test has arrived. I will be taking the written portion of my State Board exam. I have been reading and trying to prep myself, but I will be honest has been hard to discipline myself this week to do so. Last night was the first night that I didn't stress and felt peace. I will do my best and really pray tonight that God is with me. The skills portion of the test comes in mid-July.

Memorial Day

It was nice to have the 3 day weekend but boy, did it go by fast! The day turned out to be a wet and rainy, it started raining around 1:30pm. The rain was on and off pretty much the enitre evening, a couple times my electric flickered due to the thunder&lightening. So, I decided in bewteen rain drops to get some take out bring it home and watched a movie. Later on during the day I started reading my book and I am now officially half way through it. I am looking forward to the section that I will start reading this week. I am so happy that I only have to work 3 days this week, as I took this Friday and next Monday off so that will be my mini-vacation. :-)

My next adventure

I am ready to accomplish my next adventure. I have wanted to do this for years but just never attempted to do it. So now I have decided to go for it! I am in the process of getting information about it and how to get this started. I used to see them when I would go to work and thought "man how cool would it be to do that." When I told my friend Tonya about it, she thought I was nuts then she told me to go right ahead but she wouldn't be caught on one.

So here is my adventure........

A hot air balloon ride!!! I'm sure I may come close to passing out or may even toss my cookies (sort of speak). I think it will be awesome to see the view from this ride. I will let you know when it gets accomplished.

ALOT of reading

I am NOT a reader. But I have alot to read in the next 2 weeks. First, my State Board test is in 2 weeks, so I will be taking the written portion of the test. I will be starting tonight reading 12 chapters and memorizing 8. Second, I was given a book by a friend. This book was given to me with a meaning and reason behind it. It is about 233 pages long, even though I do not like to read books (unless it is history) I am looking forward to the quiet time to explore this book. When I was first told about this book and given a description of what its about, I was looking forward to it. My next few days this week I will start my reading.

Last night

So yesterday after work I decided to go see a movie and just relax. I saw the movie "Fighting", it was ok but I had a free admission pass, would never pay $7.50 or $10.00 to see it. Afterwards I got something to eat and walked around for a few minutes. I did go into Kids Footlocker, yes I can wear kids shoes cuz my feet are that small, to look. I was good and did not buy this one pair that I liked very much. I have this thing where my shoes have to color coordinate with what I am wearing, some of my friends says it doesn't have to but to me it does. I am looking forward to the summer when alot of the good movies are coming out.

Saturday

This past Saturday Mrs. Johnson and myself went to Cauley Square to eat lunch at the Tea Room. It was the first time in about 2 years that I have been there, the place had made alot changes. Afterwards we decided to look in a store and as we were walking out there were 2 cats and 1 raccoon. The really top it off while I was waiting for Mrs. Johnson to arrive I decided to go look in a new store. As I got closer to it I stopped to read the sign of the entrance and I as stepped for some reason I looked down and a baby snake went across my path. I am terrified of snakes so I back peddled as fast as I could. I did not sign up for the up close and personal of the wildlife. All in all we had fun and got to spend time catching up on talk.

Afterwards I went to see "Star Trek", it was a great movie and this weekend I will try to see the X-Men movie.

Going to a Concert!

I am a huge fan of Beyonce and when I heard that she was coming to South Florida, I was making plans to get my ticket. As of yesterday I will be seeing Beyonce in concert at Bank Atlantic Center. I got a awesome seat, I have a great view of the main stage but I will be sitting in the front row of the second stage! I will be seeing her movie "Obsessed" this weekend.

I like certain pop/rock artist and their music, as well as, some individual songs. But I am a country girl at heart! I have seen so many concerts and I cannot sleep without my radio being on a country channel. I grew up listening to the classic/traditional country music, such as George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Lorretta Lynn, Porter Wagner, Barbara Mandrell, Patsy Cline, etc. So at times I like to put this channel on my direct tv and listen, it brings back alot of childhood memories for me. Yes, I prefer country music over the pop/rock. And I do like putting peanuts in my (diet) coke with a side of a moon pie.

Here are my top 5 favorite country artist:

5.) Rascal Flatts
4.) Martina McBride
3.) Reba McEntire
2.) Keith Urban
1.) Tim McGraw

Sorry Kelly, Carrie Underwood did not make my top 5, got burned out when we had to listen to her for 2 hours.

Vacation!

It has been 7 months since I had a vacation and I am ready for one. Last year I went for the gusto and went to New York for 5 days and had a blast. Now this year I have no idea where I want to go or even do. I have always been told by someone to go with the flow and why do I always need a plan. Well, that is just the way I am and i like to know what I am doing.

This year I have tossed around some ideas and I have been looking at some deals but I haven't decided yet. Who knows maybe I will visit another state/city that I have never seen and is on my dream list. Anybody has some suggestions I open to them. Lets see if someone can give me a cool vacation to do.

Pictures

These are some pictures of when my family visited a couple weeks ago.

CNA...I Am One Step Away!

A few months ago I decided I wanted to do something different, to have a change. So I did some research and I came across CNA (Certified Nursing Asst) training. There was a local training center in Homestead that offered the class but I was figuring it to be expensive. But when I was quoted the fees and all that it enquired....I was interested. With alot of thought and prayer I decided to enroll in the class and make it happen. My first day I thought what did I get myself into, the amount of material that we were covering was overwhelming. I was determined to succeed and pass, kept myself positive and believing I can do this.

I was learning so much and excited to be doing this, I couldn't wait till the next class. I was having fun and this is truly going to be an adventure for me. I am proud of myself that I have been able to discipline myself to study and just be able to soak in everything I can from my teachers. During my second week of class we took an HHA test (Home Health Aide), I passed with a 96%. It is a requirment that we take a CPR class. The class and test is given in 3 hours, I passed this test with a 95%. So far I have 2 certificates showing I passed and can contiue.

When we got into our final week of class my teacher surprised us and said that we would be taking our final exam. This only gave us one day to study and I was starting to stress because we needed to pass this test to show that we are readyto move on. We didn't take the test when it was said, so I took it last week on the spot without studying for a week. I passed the final with a 84%, so I was able to apply for my State Board test and I did.

I have my date to take the State test, I will be doing my written and clinical skills test in the same day. I will know the same day that I pass. I have some time to study and practice my skills. I am leaving this in God's hands because if this is His plan for my life and the direction for me to go....I will pass. It is official I am exactly one test away from my license and I am very excited to be doing this!

Marlins Game

I got to go to my first Marlins game of the season. They were playing the New York Mets, I did not realize how many Mets fan there were in South Florida! It was a great game, went down to the bottom of 9th inning to win it 5 to 4. I had gotten a really awesome seat just pass the first base had an awesome few of the field. Having those seats also comes with a price....everybody was in my section including a fight that was waiting to happen 3 rows down in front of me. I enjoyed the game and I am looking forward to going to other games.

Easter Candy

My favorite easter candy is the Cadbury Creme Eggs. I get them every year, they come bite size by a dozen but this year I can't have them. So I will look at the picture and dream.

Peeps I can handle the rabbits because they are a little smaller. I am happy that they come sugar free but I do not see how that is possible since its a ball of sugar. I don't mind one every once in a while but I do rush to get them. All you Peeps lover.....they now have them in chocolate.

Stuffing Easter Baskets!

This week I got an email and text from Patricia asking if I would like to her life group stuff easter baskets for the minisrty that they chose to do, I said "yes". Patricia, Venus, Chris, Carol (if I'm right) and myself stuffed 24 baskets with ALOT of candy and additional toys. These baskets are to be given to less fortunate children in our community. The night was fun, we were cracking on each other, laughing and sneaking pieces of candy into our mouths. I did get very tempted to eat a kit-kat and I was willing to pay the price but then I decided not to. I am surprised that there were any jelly beans left.....see Chris was stuffing plastic eggs with the jelly beans and I think that as he was adding them to the eggs he was also adding them to his stomach.

Here is the finishing touches to the baskets and some pictures.....

Patricia with the finale!!!
